Wings

Tunic: Forever 21 || Pants: American Eagle || Boots: Just Fab

This mural you guys!! When I first spotted it I fell in love. These wings are apart of the Colette Miller Global Angel Wings Project. This project was created to remind us that we can be "Angels" on this Earth. There are other wings located all across the globe. They might even be in your area. :) This is such a beautiful statement of peace. You never know what the person next to you is going is through, so take a moment and be kind to your neighbors, coworkers, family, and people you pass by on the street.

I hope you are having a great holiday and that you are able to spend this time with the ones you love. I am currently in Louisiana soaking up family time with my in-laws and parents, so this Christmas was spent in 80 degree humid weather. YUCK. I took this week off of work (yay!). We drove the 20ish hours straight through from Baltimore. Many fun times with a toddler. Can you hear the sarcasm? ;)

What was your favorite gift(s) you got this year? My dreams are coming true and I got tickets to see Justin Bieber. Yes, I am a belieber and a total cheese ball. I basically cried when I opened the present from my hubby. haha. Wishing you a very happy New Year babes!

Sweater: thrifted from Instagram (@youneedmystuff ) || Flannel: Urban Outfitters (men's section) || Jeans: American Eagle || Boots: Target

It is official. I just can't say no to anything with cats on it..which is why my timeline on Facebook has me tagged in all things cat...and Justin Bieber because my love for Bieber is also very real. My friends know me too well. :) So when I spotted this sweater with the cutest cat face, I couldn't resist.

This was my Thanksgiving outfit. For some reason Thanksgiving isn't really a holiday we dress up for, so the usual jeans and a sweater it was. I did regret wearing these jeans though. I had to unbutton them after eating about two huge plates full of amaingness. *hiding in shame* Next year it will be stretchy pants for sure. I should have listened to Joey from Friends, and worn my Thanksgiving pants. haha.

Hope you all had a lovely Thanksgiving! Did anyone go shopping on Black Friday?

Alley Cat

Cardigan: House of Alexzander || Dress: American Eagle || Boots: Just Fab || Socks: Urban Outfitters || Clutch: Forever 21 || Necklace: Charlotte Russe

Long cardigans make me oh so happy, and this one is no exception. I love being able to feel the cardigan swish as I walk...yeah, I am a weirdo. :) They go with everything so well too: jeans, skirts, dresses, shorts....you name it. This one will be on repeat for sure this fall/winter.

Can we talk about how cold it was this weekend...and today? I was freezing taking these photos, and to make things worse it started to rain (in a couple of the photos my face was priceless as the wind and rain basically turned me into an icicle) and I swear I saw some flurries too. THIS IS NOT OKAY. It is far too early for super cold weather...end rant.

Date night happened on Friday and we thus ended up at the movies (if the hubs and I can get out of the house without the kiddo we usually go to the movies...we are total movie buffs). We saw Crimson Peak, and I really really enjoyed it (I try to go into movies with very low expectations, so I can enjoy and like it better. lol). The cinematography was amaze balls. Hope you all had a lovely weekend!

Black and White

Top and Sweater: Urban Outfitters || Jeans: American Eagle || Shoes: Target || Backpack: thrifted :)

I tend to lean toward more black and white (and greys of course) colors when it comes to clothing because they are so classic. So naturally I chose a wall to match my outfit. haha. A crazy scene to flow with the pattern mixing because it is fun to shake it up a little. :) Both of these murals are on the same wall, and I wish I could have gotten the whole scene in a picture, but I couldn't fit it all because this wall is HUGE.

I hope you all enjoyed the long weekend (if you were lucky enough to have Monday off)! It was super hot here...and it is still so hot. I am wanting to add more layers to my clothes, but it is hard when it is 90+ degrees outside. Come one fall where are you? Pumpkin spice lattes are here, so you should be too. Speaking of psl, did you get yours yet? I got mine this morning and gulped it down in about 5 minutes. So yummy!

Enjoy your week! Love you all! *muah*

Brick

Since I dress business casual most of the week at work, I usually dress down for the weekend unless there is a special occasion. Jeans and a t-shirt are just so comfy and easy. Don't think that just because you are wearing jeans and a shirt that you don't look nice. Add some nice sandals, a cute braid, or some accessories to instantly upgrade your outfit. And adding these things takes about 5 minutes, so it isn't hard. I know in our minds we are usually so busy, but adding a couple of extra details can make the difference in how you feel and see your self for the rest of the day (I am preaching to myself here). When I know I look good. I feel good too.

I added a little side braid for a different look. This was so easy, and it changed up my look just enough. I did a regular braid (I have not perfected the french braid yet. haha). You don't have to braid that much just a couple of inches, then I pulled it under my hair about ear level and secured it with a couple of bobby pins. Easy as pie.

Enjoy the rest of your day!
